Bangkok Post: Security officials in Surat Thani province, Thailand, have dismissed reports of a possible terror plot against Israelis on Koh Phangan as untrue. The reassurance comes after Israeli authorities advised their citizens in Thailand to be vigilant following reports of a potential threat during the Full Moon Party.
Despite Israeli media outlets citing internal Thai police documents and "concrete information" regarding the possible threat, Koh Phangan district officials and police maintain that the island is safe. They assert that increased security measures are standard procedure during events like the Full Moon Party and Loy Krathong festival, both of which are taking place on Friday.
The National Security Council in Israel has not changed its threat level assessment for Thailand, but urges Israelis to remain alert. Meanwhile, Thai authorities are increasing security measures, including searches of suspicious items and people entering Koh Phangan.
